Frizzy Hair Remedies

Summer is approaching and along with a great tan, you may be experiencing frizzy hair. Frizz can ruin any look, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be managed. Here are some tips on how to tame frizzy hair:

  • Controlling frizzy hair starts with how often you wash your hair. Be sure to shampoo your hair no more than twice per week. You can condition in between if you have to.
  • Use a moisturizing conditioner and focus on the ends of your hair. Be sure to leave the conditioner in your hair for about 5 minutes before washing it out.
  • Mix olive oil with one egg and mix it together to create a hair mask that should be left in your hair for no more than 30 minutes. Once done, use shampoo and conditioner to wash the mixture out.
  • When using a blow dryer, hold the dryer a few inches away from your hair and keep it constantly moving so that you don’t burn your hair. Burnt hair ends up looking frizzy and wirey.
  • When drying your hair, first squeeze out and excess water and then pat hair dry. Avoid rubbing your hair dry because the friction can create more frizz.
  • Use a wide toothed comb rather than a brush to get the knots out of your hair.
  • When using anti frizz hair products, be thorough in applying the product to the top of your head as well as throughout your rest of your hair. Don’t forget to apply it to the hair underneath as well.
  • If you use hot oil treatments, cut the number of times that you do this down to once a month.
  • You can also prevent frizzy hair by leaving it alone. Many women are in the habit of constantly brushing or touching their hair, pulling it back and putting strands behind their ears. All of this touching may cause frizzy hair.
  • If your body is lacking vitamins, it may cause your hair to frizz so try including a multivitamin supplement in your diet. Also try to eat foods that are rich in nutrients.

These tips should help you to get rid of frizz and have healthy looking hair.
