The Importance Of Drinking Water

We’ve written several bog posts where one of the beauty tips that we provided was to drink plenty of water. Keeping this in mind, it only makes sense to inform you of the benefits of drinking water and since this is a blog for a beauty school, it’s only fair to make this post beauty related. But we’ll get to everything here.

Let’s start with the fact that about 2/3 the human body is made up of water and our vital organs need water to work properly.  You should drink at least 8 ounces of water daily and even more during the summer or while working out because the perspiration will cause you to lose a lot of the water in your body. Keep in mind that if you’re feeling thirsty you’re already dehydrated so be sure to make it a habit to constantly drink water throughout the day. Some of the benefits of drinking water include following:

  • Health benefits of drinking water include waters ability to get rid of or protect against headaches, joint pains and backaches which are often caused by dehydration.
  • Water helps you to lose weight by speeding up your metabolism and curbing your appetite.
  • One of the skin benefits of water is that because water flushes out the toxins in your body and helps when you sweat, your body becomes cleansed and your skin glows.
  • Water also hydrates your skin and keeps it from getting dry so it keeps your skin looking younger.
  • Water absorbs the nutrients from your food so that your body can use them which also helps your skin to look its best.
  • Drinking plenty of water will boost your energy level.

Drinking soda, tea, coffee or juice does not count so be sure to drink water all by itself or with a twist of lemon to keep your body healthy. What are you waiting for? Go get some water.
