www.knowcancer.com

According to Cancer.org about 230,480 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Women such as our mothers, sisters and friends can easily be targeted by this serious illness. Let’s support the women in our lives by doing our best to support breast cancer awareness month,  educate women about the disease and help to raise funds for research. Here are a few things you can do.

Wear Pink

You’ve been seeing women do this for years. Women have been wearing pink ribbons on their shirts to show their support. You can take this one step further by wearing a pink shirt or a pink ribbon in your hair.

Purchase Products From Companies Who Give Back

There are thousands of companies who support breast cancer research. You can easily find beauty, fashion and even jewelry companies who either donate annually or give part of their proceeds to research this disease during the month of October.

Visit A Patient In The Hospital

While some people have an influx of loved ones visiting them daily while they are getting treated, there are many who have no one. Visiting a patient will help to lift their spirits and will give you a new appreciation for your own life and health.

Go On A Breast Cancer Walk

Not only is walking beneficial to your health it’s also a great way to get some friends together and raise money. You don’t need to give a lot of money to show support. Some people give $5 while others give more. It’s really up to you how much you sponsor.

Donate

There are reputable sites online that you can give money to who will use it to help patients who can’t afford treatment or who will put the money towards researching medication. If you have the ability to donate some of the money that you’ve worked hard for it would be a great way to feel good about yourself and to help out with the research that may one day save your life or the life of a loved one.

Hopefully you will never need treatment for breast cancer, but if one day you should wont it feel good knowing that you did something to find a cure.
