Your eyebrows play a big role in the symmetry of your face. If they look good then you look good. However, if they are crooked, over plucked, shaped incorrectly, too thin or shaped differently it can throw off the balance of your face and make you look like you have no idea how to care for your brows. Sure, you can go to a threading or waxing salon and have someone do it for you but it’s very well possible that you still won’t be happy with the results and even if you find someone that you love it can get very costly. Here are some tips on how to get perfect eyebrows that will save you a lot of time, aggravation and money.

  • Start by purchasing a good tweezer from a company that specializes in it. You may have to spend a couple of dollars more but it’s worth it because a better tweezer will give you a better grip on those little hairs.
  • The best time to tweeze your brows is when you get out of the shower because your pores are open. This makes it easier to slide out the hairs so that you don’t have to use as much energy to yank them out.
  • For sanitary purposes you should tweeze in the bathroom. However, it’s also important to have a room that’s well lit and has a good mirror so that you can actually see what you’re doing. If the bathroom doesn’t fit the bill then go to a room that is well lit and take a small portable mirror with you.
  • Before you start plucking your eyebrows take a good look at them. Evaluate the shape and the hairs that stand away from the actual eyebrow area. You shouldn’t even consider shaping your eyebrows until you’ve had a good look at yourself because you’re more likely to destroy the shape that way.
  • When you start plucking your eyebrows start with the hairs that are floating around under, over or in between your brows. Getting rid of the strays will help you get a clearer picture of what your eyebrow should look like.
  • Finally, it’s time to cut the hairs so that you can achieve the clean look that you’re after.  Use an eyebrow brush or a clean toothbrush to brush your brows upwards. Use a fine scissor to cut any of the hairs that stand above your natural brow line.
  • Now go back to evaluating your eyebrows. Do they look good as they are naturally or are they really as thick as you think they are? You shouldn’t remove any of the main hairs unless you truly have bushy brows and the best way to find out if they are overly grown is to ask someone you trust. Chances are that it’s all in your head and you don’t have to touch them. If you do decide to take out some extra hairs be very careful to follow your natural arch line and work slowly so that you don’t take out too much at a time.

As with everything else, the more you practice plucking your eyebrows the better and the faster you’ll get at achieving it. Good luck!
